Responsible Gaming

This page sets out practical advice for gambling with less risk, and explains exactly what this site does and does not do when it comes to help resources, age checks and account controls. It applies to every page of this build, including the operator listings.

Before

Decide the amount you are willing to lose before you start, and treat that amount as already spent the moment you begin. Deciding in advance removes the pressure to make a real-time judgement call while you are already involved in play, which is the hardest moment to think clearly about money.

Keep the source of that money separate from rent, bills or anything borrowed. Gambling with money earmarked for something else turns an entertainment cost into a debt problem, regardless of the outcome of any single session.

During

  • Never chase a loss. Trying to win back money already lost tends to increase the size and frequency of bets, which increases the eventual loss rather than reducing it.
  • Take breaks. Stepping away breaks the momentum of continuous play and gives you a chance to compare how much time or money has gone against what you originally planned.
  • Involve someone else early. Telling a partner, friend or family member as soon as gambling stops feeling like entertainment gives you an outside perspective before a habit becomes harder to change.

Help

Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to three independent gambling-help organisations: gambleaware.nsw.gov.au, gamblinghelponline.org.au and responsiblegambling.vic.gov.au. These are the only outbound links on the site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on the organisation's own website. This site receives nothing when a reader follows one of them.

The eighteen-and-over restriction is repeated throughout this build, including on the front page and at the end of every operator listing. Each of the ten operator listings also ends with the same line: check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, because eligibility rules and terms apply there and can change without notice.

Where controls actually live

Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods or self-exclusion belong to an operator account. This build has no account, no form and no server-side application, so nothing published here can switch one on, check one or enforce one. If you want any of those controls, they are arranged inside an account at the destination you reach after leaving this site, not on this page.

Nobody's age is verified on this site and no gambling takes place on it. Any check of that kind happens at the destination. This site also carries no advertising or behavioural profiling network, so nothing here is targeted at a reader who has shown risky behaviour.

Everything a reader can actually do with money happens after leaving this site: each operator link redirects to a third party, and from that moment the destination's rules, checks and account controls apply, not anything published here. If gambling has stopped being entertainment for you, the three organisations linked on this page and on every page of this site are an independent source of help.
